Contents & Formulation

Each 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) suspension contains:
Metronidazole, USP...................................125 mg
(equivalent to 200 mg Metronidazole benzoate)

Indications and Usage

For the treatment of amoebiasis, trichomoniasis and other susceptible
protozoal infection.

Dosage & Administration

DYMETRAZOLE suspension is given
orally on an empty stomach.
Take at least 1 hour before meals.

Children:

Amoebiasis
1-3 years old: 100-200 mg 3 times a day.
3-7 years old: 100-200 mg 4 times a day.
7-10 years old: 200-400 mg 3 times a day. Doses
are given for 5-10 days.
Giardiasis
1-3 years old: 500 mg once daily for 3 days.
3-7 years old: 600-800 mg once daily for 3 days.
7-10 years old: 1000 mg once daily for 3 days.
>10 years old: Same as adult dose.
Alternatively, 15-40 mg/kg daily in 2-3 divided
doses.
Trichonomiasis
1-10 years old: 40 mg/kg as a single dose or
15-30 mg/kg daily in 2-3 divided doses for 7
days. Do not exceed 2 g per dose.
Anaerobic Bacterial Infections
>2 months-12 years old: 7.5 mg/kg, every 8
hours for 7 days depending on the severity of
the infection.
Children <2 months of age: 7.5 mg/kg every 12
hours.
